Music has always held a special place among the arts because of the emotional response it evokes together with visuals and any other medias, regardless a motion picture, a staged play, a video game, or even an installation art. From a commercial point of view, it greatly influence intention to buy, and demonstrably increase sales.
A study by the Harvard Business Review concluded that people remember 20 percent of what they hear and 30 percent of what they hear and see. We all understand well the importance of music to pictures, but how do we use music suitably and effectively to strengthen the storytelling? In this session, Ken Hor will present how one can conceptualize a musical project prior to writing it, a task which most academic composers find challenging at the beginning of their career in the music industry. |
